Abstract

Percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy is one of the standard surgeries for the treatment of lumbar soft disc herniation. We describe a case where a single incision was used to perform percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy for two-level disc herniations. This procedure is performed in the same manner as separate operations at each of the 2 levels, but it has some advantages, especially for a young female patient. The primary aim is to improve the cosmetic outcome of surgery without compromising the safety of the operation. This is not a new technique; however, it is a specific application of percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy aimed at maximizing the benefits of surgery.
